“ Overall a great experience 4.5. We came on a rainy day and lucked out on a table for 4. Everyone ordered sandwiches and they were all delicious. The chicken pesto was moist and not overwhelming, the Ruben was full and flavourful and the grilled cheese, albeit standard, was liked by the kids as it had different cheeses. Service was pretty good despite the busy lunch time rush. Although I saw many tourists, I also saw many locals coming in to greet the familiar hosts. ”

“ My husband and I came here to begin our day exploring Bancroft. The place is super cute and lovely. The staff were very kind. We absolutely loved our meals. My husband had the great Canadian and I had the Maple Ham n' Swiss. We loved the lil side option of bean medley. The meals were perfect portioned and unique. I loved the Canadian flag on top! ”

“ One of the coziest and coolest local cafes I’ve ever been we arrived before their closing time and they accommodate us kindly. I’ve ordered the tomato basil soup and it was one of the best soups ever. The Swiss and ham panini was also tasty. Emma helped us taking our order, she was welcome and sweet. Can’t wait to come back here again in summer time. ”

“ I stopped in at the Wattle & Daub today on a rainy afternoon and was delighted by the warm and inviting atmosphere and the overall vibe of the place! Dimly lit, with fairy lights and jazz music. The perfect vibe for an afternoon lunch in town. I got an interesting french onion and swiss panini and my partner, a canadian grilled cheese, served warm and crispy with a side salad option. The warm Chai Latte was incredible!! ”

“ A Love is baked into every cake Here. I’m not joking. It’s a game to find the heart amongst the pieces cut. A wonderful lady named Tracy manages this quaint “not for profit” cafe which raises funds for the Bancroft Community Transit organization; All the funds raised go towards helping this community stay active. They make getting to activities, easier for folks who would otherwise be isolated. Tracy and her team of 2 love to bake and make homemade soups. Many of their recipes are family recipes dating back 3 generations. In fact, the first cake, that Tracy baked for the cafe, came from her Grandmother’s cake pans and recipe. When Tracy was a wee girl, her Grand told her, one day she’d bake beautiful cakes for people and here she is! Heartwarming. Stop in and let yourself fall in love or give the Ladies at the cafe a call the day before to order a cake or donuts, for pick-up. Dining in, is also an option for lunch. ”

“ Lovely quaint café with indoor and outdoor seating. We had warm cheddar biscuits & tea and got a date square to go. The portion sizes are something to behold and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend! ”

“ Amazing food and atmosphere! Got the beef and barley soup, a salad, a BLT, raisin butter tart, coffee and iced tea. Everything was delicious and as I sat in there, folks came in raving about the food and cheesecake. I'll be making this place a regular stop whenever I'm in Bancroft! ”

“ A quaint little place. Holds around 25 people? Had a nice lunch. A toasted BLT in hearty grain bread. Perfectly made. Others had a salad. Baby spinach, pecans, cranberries, with goat cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Had a huge ginger cookie that was delicious . ”
